Welcome to A Song A Day!

This blog presents a song a day of music which has shaped the American culture. These are songs which every American would do well to recognize, though many of them are not themselves American songs. Ranging from folk to classical, serious to silly, religious to secular, past to present, they are songs which define the quintessential American experience. Inspired by my good friend B.G. who has frequently said to me, "I've never heard that one before!" this blog is for him and all others like him to come to recognize, and hopefully know and appreciate, the music that inspires America. Each day includes a song title, a video of the song, and a link to learn more about that day in history. Songs are added one week at a time each Sunday. Please take this information and apply it to your own lives and families as you best see fit.
